Stephen Kirkpatrick (Principal Landscape Architect/Director)

Stephen is the practice founder and has been a chartered landscape architect and environmental planning consultant for over 20 years.  He adopts a hands-on approach in directing a highly skilled team of professionals at Scarp, has an in-depth knowledge of the UK planning, legislative and regulatory systems and has worked in China, Australia, North Africa and the Channel Islands. 

Stephen has particular skills in landscape master-planning and environmental assessment.  He brings creative visions to landscape masterplans for a wide range of development types and helps ensure, as an inter-disciplinary professional, an iterative and strongly synergistic interface between master-planning and EIA.  LVIA inputs have been provided to the ESs for Phase 1 of High Speed 2, various research/light industrial developments at Harwell Campus and Innovation Centre and numerous strategic residential/mixed use developments across the country.

Stephen is also a seasoned expert witness and has presented evidence for numerous planning appeals that have considered wind farm, residential, commercial and mixed use development proposals.
